The United States is currently experiencing its greatest financial crisis since the Crash of 1929, and for the exact same reasons. There can be no doubt that our current difficulties are a direct result of government action in pursuit of a Republican economic philosophy and a specific agenda intended to empower large corporations, as well as super rich individuals, at the explicit expense of the poor and middle class.

        There is also no doubt that this Republican agenda was achieved by manipulation of our democratic process, by deceit, and by subterfuge, in violation of law in literally thousands of incidents, over more than a quarter century, by a parade of soulless, greedy, ruthless criminals in a relentless quest for wealth and power.

        These criminals were led by Ronald Reagan, who sold his soul to these powerful entities in exchange for being made president, and who repaid their financial support by disassembling all the New Deal legislation which had been passed to protect the working class from these evil parasites. He was assisted and succeeded by his vice president, George Herbert Walker Bush.

        One of the weapons they used was the unlimited capital available to them from their alliance with the Saudi Arabian royal family. George W Bush also took $300,000 from Kenneth Lay, President of Enron, who stole it from the electrical rate payers of California. More capital was made available by the Bush family’s $8.7 million theft from Silverado Savings and Loan Association, made possible by Reagan’s deregulation of the S&L industry, the same deregulation that made possible Charles Keating’s looting of Lincoln Savings and Loan. This latter incident resulted in accusations against five U.S. Senators, known as "The Keating Five," for corruption, one of whom was John McCain. Now we have this same corrupt politician naming the Governor of Alaska to be his running mate while she is also under investigation for corruption.

        Each time the American people allow one of these crooks to put their hands in our pockets, working people, who pay most of the taxes, are stuck with the tab. Reagan’s S&L bailout cost us $1.4 TRILLION. Now we have the Wall Street bailouts of more banks, Sarah Palin’s misappropriation of the "Bridge To Nowhere" funds, one of literally thousands of Republican "earmarks," while unregulated defense contractors, unregulated pharmaceutical companies, unregulated oil companies, and a hundred other unregulated monopolies and oligarchies, are bleeding our nation dry for their own pound of flesh, and mandating that our grandchildren will live in poverty.

        We must take our nation back. We must stop these obscenities NOW! It is therefore with hope for the future and faith in The Democratic Party, that The MacDonnell Of Leinster Association endorses Barack Obama for President of The United States and Joseph Biden for Vice President of The United States.

        We urge all our U.S. members to vote, to volunteer, and to support the Obama/Biden campaign with their money, with their prayers, and with their own endorsements, so that the blessings of Democracy, the welfare of our grandchildren, and the sweet smell of FREEDOM may be restored to this land.
