Working On It

Membership - Our first priority must be to identify and catalogue names, addresses and areas of interest of all the descendants of the MacDonnells of Leinster that we can find, as well as all supporters, with special emphasis on establishing communication with those who wish to participate.

Working On It

Public Relations - Other groups who share our several objectives must be identified, contacted and their collaboration solicited, so as to maximize the effects of our efforts.

Done

Archeology - Efforts should be organized to identify, locate, photograph and completely catalogue sites relevant to the MacDonnells of Leinster such as Cnoc Na Cloigh, Cnoc Tuagh, etc. It would be very helpful to find members active in this academic area to head up these projects, but local contributors should also be encouraged.

Done

Clan Symbols - A committee should be organized to study choices of a tartan or tartans, crest, badge and banner for our branch of Clan Donald, and to make recommendations to the Council

Working On It

Cultural preservation - Much Gaelic folk music, art and bardic poetry has been lost due to the passing of those who knew and performed it, who wrote it, or due to the loss of those who spoke the Gaelic language. Efforts should be made to organize those with expertise or interest in these areas so as to preserve and restore what we can.

Need Help

Please indicate on the membership form below, your willingness to help with any of these projects, as well as any other projects you would like to have considered.

Having preserved our traditional music, it should be played correctly.  Our own pipe band would not only be the best means of insuring this, but would be a great asset to The Association in providing a vehicle for promoting both social and public relations.
